Two-timing Hound Dog

Molly_and_priscilla_at_troopers_thr

Our employee Cindy was over at Widget's House the other morning when she saw the usual start-of-the-day antics beginning.  Most mornings when we let the dogs out, Trooper -- the hound mix from Louisiana with a twisted front leg -- goes dashing out the door, closely followed by his girlfriend, Priscilla the blind Poodle.  Priscilla chases Trooper around the yard, romping and roughhousing with her hound dog of a boyfriend.  Often Priscilla's sister, blind Molly, joins in the fray.  (Molly is increasingly showing a lot of, um, special attention towards Trooper.  It's like she wants a boyfriend, too, and doesn't care that her sister is already dating him.  These girls just seem nutty about this Cajun boy.)

Now, I have tried to capture these antics before, but whenever Trooper sees me with a camera, he stops playing with the Poodle sisters, so I've never been able to get photos of these morning games before.  This time, when the threesome started up their routine, they did so on the front porch of Widget's House, and Cindy was able to get the photos through the screen door.  They didn't even realize she was there photographing.

Here Molly is giving Trooper a right-hook, while blind Brody on the cot realizes mayhem is nearby and is doing his best to stay clear:

In this one it looks like Priscilla and Trooper have teamed up to get Molly by the ears (not nice!):

But just moments later, Priscilla has the hound by his ear while blind-and-deaf Blanca looks on (sort of):

Finally, when it's all over, Trooper makes nice with sister Molly, who is clearly relishing the affection:

Hard to believe both girls are completely blind, isn't it?

It really makes my day to see these beautiful dogs having such a wonderful time. Great photos!

I love it! I just cracked up over the antics. I love all the pics of them in action, it makes you feel like you're right there watching them. Girls just want to have fun!!! Trooper is happy to oblige!

Can't believe no one has asked to adopt those two girls, they are great. But I guess that adoption would really have to be a threesome wouldn't it.

What a good way to sail into the weekend. Why be upset with a bad hair day when these girls enjoy romping and playing, share a boyfriend, and look so happy yet they are blind?! Great photos. Thanks!

Trooper is the James Carville of dogs. Not the handsomest guy, but that Cajun charm just draws the ladies!

Trooper's tail looks like a whip! I bet it would hurt if it hit you hard enough!! Since he's got those hound dog ears that droop, his tail seems to express what he's feeling! And how cute is Blanca??

Thanks for sharing these pictures with us. It's wonderful to see how happy these dogs are.

Trooper is just eating up all that attention from Priscilla & Molly! They are having a grand time & Cindy did a great job of capturing their fun for us all to enjoy. I think the sisters are happy to share Trooper because they know "he ain't nothing but a Hound Dog!"
Big hugs to all,

Ah, what a wonderful post to start off my Friday morning! :)

Thanks for putting a smile on my face, Steve!

Now that is one darn cute hound dog and this was a great photo essay!!!! The sisters are so sweet too especially with their nice cuts.

Trooper is quite the Casanova. Don't forget Love IS Blind, they say. Evidently the girls have heard this term. Ha.. So cute. They are sure having fun and that's all that's important. Life at RDR is grand. Bless them all.

Too funny! Never a dull moment, eh?
