I got this shot yesterday of blind-and-deaf Spinner enjoying the early morning sun. She is still sitting where we fed her dinner the night before. That's one of her favorite places, in the thick grass under the aspen, though I doubt she actually stayed in the same spot all night. I suspect she got up at some point, wandered around, and came back to it overnight. But there she was the next morning. Spinner prefers to stay outside as much as possible in summer, and as long as the nights are warm, she'd rather sleep in the tall grass outdoors than on a bed in the house. And instead of coming inside to eat, she likes to eat outside, too, so we have to take her meals to her wherever she is in the yard. It makes us feel like we're waiters at an outdoor cafe.

Wow, Spinner has it made in the shade!!! Life can't better than this at the ranch where she has the humans trained!!! Cute photo!

I love how you adapt to their wants & needs. I'd be happy to have a picnic any time with Spinner. He definitely has picked out a great spot!!!

What a wonderful life you have given her

Well looks like Spinner has you trained well and is a lady who "lunches"... but I wouldn't worry too much unless she starts asking for Perrier water and her gravy "on the side".
She has it made at RDR!!!

I've just this moment decided. In my next life, I want to be a disabled dog who lives at Rolling Dog Ranch.
That you guys look for and notice personal preferences and then provide them for your animals makes me weep with joy.

Life's a picnic and RDR!

Spinner very much deserves the lifestyle she has at RDR. I'm sure her outdoor summer experiences fill up all her senses.
She's a lucky and beautiful girl!
Thank you for making her life so special and fulfilled....servers Steve and Alayne. : )

Well I would hope the lots of doggie kisses you might get for your waiting service are at least as good as money! - or better. If that's an outdoor cafe, I want to be there!

This is proof that Spinner makes great use of the senses she does have. Imagine how she is enjoying the feel of the grass and the sun on her fur, face and paws. And the smells of a warm summer day in Montana. And let's not forget her taste buds, because I'm sure you two are excellent "waiters" bringing her really savory morsels for her dining al fresco. Enjoy every minute of your life Spinner (and everyone else too!)

Boy, Spinner sure knows what matters in life. We shoud all be so lucky, and if we can't be? Well, then she should all take note of what she's teaching us.
Imagine being outside, taking in the "view," the scents (the sense, perhaps), and enjoying your meals with the real sounds of the outdoors (instead of fabricated ones that come from a box you plug in).
Oh yeah, Spinner's got life figured out.
